The Boy Scout Camp, Camp Trexler, was sold today to Valor, a veterans support nonprofit based in Monroe County.

Valor has a location across the street from the camp and has used it to provide meals over the years.
They plan to use the camp as a retreat to help lower veteran suicides with programs that keep them active but also getting jobs and dealing with addiction.
“We’re going to preserve Camp Trexler," said Mark Baylis, Founder of Valor. "In part of preserving Camp Trexler, the land will stay conserved. Everybody’s concerned that it will be conserved, it will be conserved but we’re going to repurpose the buildings.”

Valor plans to keep the community involved and will let Boy Scouts use the camp between sessions.
