Instruction: If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. A strong thunderstorm, moving south at 15 mph, is expected to impact central Monroe County until 5:30 PM CDT. The storm, located 8 miles southeast of Smithville or 9 miles east of Amory, may bring winds exceeding 40 mph and pea-sized hail. Gusty winds have the potential to knock down tree limbs and unsecured objects, causing minor damage to outdoor items. Areas likely to be affected include Amory, Aberdeen, Hatley, Gattman, Binford, Sipsey Fork, New Hamilton, Becker, Quincy, Splunge, Wise Gap, Athens, East Aberdeen, Muldon, Greenwood Springs, Parham, and Bigbee. The maximum size of the hail is 0.25 inches, and the maximum wind gust is 40 mph. The information is based on radar indications.
