Lewiston Museum to hold 'Family Day' June 2
Submitted by the Historical Association of Lewiston. Tucked into an historic corner of the Village of Lewiston’s formal historic district is the 1835 church at the southeast corner of Plain and Niagara streets. The structure is 189 years old this year and, for the last 51 years of its life, it has been home to the Lewiston Museum.

Cemetery ceremony set for Sunday
Hello everyone! I cordially invite to join in on the Capt. Van Cleve and veterans memorial monument on Sunday. The dedication of Van Cleves’ markers will be in the old cemetery right next to the old church at noon. It will be an unveiling of the grave markers they never received upon their deaths in 1886 and 1888. Wheatfield historian Justin Higner will portray Capt. Van Cleve and tell the background story of the Van Cleves with the ceremonial wreath-laying ceremony. Claudia Werth Carnes will portray the widow, Rev. Mrs. Smith, mourning the Van Cleves and the veterans who have gone before us.
Beaver Island Parkway bridge reopens; was replaced after I-Team investigation found it was in 'poor' condition

Town of Grand Island adopts waterfront plan
Grand Island has a new plan to protect, preserve and responsibly develop its Niagara River waterfront and shoreline. The Town Board adopted its Local Waterfront Revitalization Program (LWRP) at Monday’s meeting. The passage has a caveat though: The Town Board agreed to be open to suggested changes from the public as they are raised down the line.
2 men plead guilty to vehicular manslaughter following 2023 Hamburg crash
HAMBURG, N.Y. — Two drivers have pleaded guilty to vehicular manslaughter after they both contributed to a collision that claimed the life of a teenage girl. The DA says that Justin Trane, 30, was driving drunk and that Dylan Wiza, 18, was driving high when they crashed into each other on McKinley Parkway last August.
