The Mobile County Sheriff's Office reports they are assisting the Federal Aviation Administration with a plane crash that took place on Dauphin Island.

The two seater plane crashed north of the Dauphin Island Bridge approximately 40 yards off the west side of Dauphin Island Parkway.

Both passengers were treated on the scene and released.

The FAA has yet to report on why the plane crashed.
