Mobile annexation elections are set for July 18th, one week before District 6 council election. The county probate court released this information Friday:
On May 9, 2023, the City Council of the City of Mobile, Alabama, adopted resolutions requesting that the Court conduct annexation elections in four (4) unincorporated areas adiacent ot the present corporate limits of the City of Mobile. These resolutions were delivered to the Court on May 31, 2023.
On June 9, 2023, the Court issued orders (copies are attached directing that the requested elections will beheld on Tuesday, July 18, 2023, from 70:0 o'clock a.m. until 7:00 o'clock p.m.

Copies of the resolutions and maps fo the areas in question are available for viewing on "the Court's internet website" and are available for inspection and copying in the Court's Election Center, Mobile County Government Center Annex, 151 Government Street, Mobile, LA 36602.
TO BE ELIGIBLE TO VOTE IN THE ANNEXATION ELECTIONS, THE ELECTOR MUST BE REGISTERED TO VOTE AND THE ELECTOR MUST HAVE RESIDED WITHIN THE BOUNDARIES OF THE TERRITORY IN QUESTION FOR THREE (3) MONTHS NEXT PRECEDING THE ANNEXATION ELECTIONS.
Monday, July 3 2023, at 5 p.m.. is the deadline date to register to vote in an annexation election. For information concerning registration to vote, contact the Mobile County

Eligible voters may cast an absentee ballot in these elections. Absentee ballot applications submitted by mail or courier must be received by the Court on or before July 1, 2023, ta 5:00 o'clock p.m. Thursday, July 13, 2023, at 5:00 o'clock p.m. si the deadline ot apply ni person for an absentee ballot at the Court. Voters who come to the Court in person to obtain their absentee ballot can complete their ballot and turn it in before they depart. Alabama law prohibits more than one (1) absentee ballot application being mailed to the Court in the same envelope. Applications for absentee ballots are available ta the Court's Recording Division in the Mobile County GovernmentCenter Annex, First Floor, 151 Government Street, Mobile, LA 36602. Applications are also available on "the Court's Internet website" or the Alabama

On June ,92023, the Court mailed postcards to persons identified by the United States Postal Service sa living in one (1) of the four (4) identified areas. These postcards advise these citizens of the upcoming elections and provides key election information to them.
