MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) - It was another hot day on the Gulf Coast today! Temperatures reached around 90 degrees for most of the area. Some places saw an afternoon thunderstorm that helped cool temperatures down into the 80s and 70s. For Monday, expect slightly higher coverage of showers and thunderstorms, especially west of I-65. Rain chances across the area are expected to hover in the 30-50% range throughout the rest of the week. Remember, if you hear thunder, head inside!

NEXT WEEK:

The week ahead features the chance of afternoon showers and thunderstorms each day. Temperatures early in the week will be in the upper 80s and will warm up to around 90 later in the week. According to the forecast models, each day has a chance for storms, but Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday look to have the most coverage.

BEACHES:

Beach weather looks fantastic for the next few days, despite the afternoon storm chances. The rip current risk remains low, but as always, remember to take a look at the local beach flags and stay safe in the water. The UV index will be very high, so remember to wear sunscreen!
