ALEA: 3 injured when truck tried to go around crossbuck signs, was struck by Amtrak train (WPMI)
IRVINGTON, Ala. (WPMI) —
According to ALEA, the train crash on Irvington Bayou La Batre Hwy at 10:50 a.m. involved a 2006 Ford pickup and an Amtrak train.

The pickup was attempting to go around the railroad crossbucks on IBLB Hwy and US 90, and was struck by the train.
The driver, Hao Trans, 45, of Cove, TX., and 2 passengers were transported to Providence Hospital with minor injuries.
Amtrak confirmed that the train involved inthe incident was an Amtrak train on a “qualifying run” from Mobile to New Orleans.
He also confirmed that Amtrak officials met with Mayor Stimpson and staff Tuesday about the project for the Mobile Amtrak passenger rail station. The station will be built at the legacy location, near Cooper Riverside Park and Gulf Quest.
