The Poverello Center hosted a monthly neighborhood meeting with city officials on Monday night to answer questions and give updates.
The Johnson Street emergency winter shelter in Missoula is slated to close on April 10.
The shelter is funded with federal American Rescue Plan Act dollars, but the money is running out.
Officials also said there won't be an authorized outdoor campsite this year due to the city facing a budget crunch.
"We're going to have a very, very difficult session this summer, because we've got some sideboards that are pinching us in terms our revenue for the city. So we have -- this certainly is a priority -- but when we have so many priorities in the city that we've got to fund, and limited resources, that's hard," Missoula City Council member Gwen Jones said.
Organizers say the Johnson Street shelter housed over 100 people each night on average this winter.
