All four inmates remain at the Lowndes County Adult Detention Center. The Mississippi Bureau of Investigations is conducting the investigation and has filed charges on the four inmates.

The investigation revealed that the fire started in a day-room of the facility. Evidence also shows that a surveillance camera was disabled and the wires were shorted causing a spark and Langford used the spark to ignite the fire.

Clean up is under way but a total estimate of the damage has not been determined at this time.
