Cottage-style housing may soon be a possibility in Waynesboro to potentially address the need for more affordable homes in the city. What exactly is cottage-style housing? The idea with cottage housing is that there would be a cluster of small residences with 800- to 1500-square-feet per home. The home may not face a public road but instead the front of the home may face a community area or garden. There would likely be a parking lot nearby that the homeowners would utilize but no driveways in front of the homes.

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WHSV) - Christiansburg captured its first VHSL state softball title on Saturday, coming from behind to defeat Turner Ashby 6-3 in eight innings. Trailing 1-0 in the bottom of the third, Turner Ashby took the lead on Kendall Simmers’ 2-RBI double. The Knights would hold that until the top of the seventh.

It can range from litter, debris from weather or traffic accidents or carcasses left after an animal was hit. On May 28, the Nafzger family came across a 70+ pound pit bull in the middle of the road, which was still breathing when they passed by it.

Batesville Celebrates with Foot Race, Parade, Maypole, Music, and “Not So Ugly” Truck Raffle. The citizens of Batesville were overjoyed at the return of the Batesville Day parade, led by grand marshal and beloved Batesville Postmaster Sandra Vaughn. The parade had been missing for the last five years from the Batesville Day festivities, held annually on the first Saturday in May. Long-time Batesville resident Helmes Brown said Vaughn’s choice for the honor met with universal approval.
