Multiple Illinois Jewel Osco Stores Receive Bomb Threats

MINOOKA, IL – Several Jewel Osco stores across Illinois were targeted with bomb threats on Wednesday, causing panic and prompting swift police action. 

The Minooka location, situated at 2051 Ridge Road, was among the four stores that received a threatening call around 10:19 p.m. last night. The store manager promptly notified the Minooka Police after an unidentified male caller claimed there was an 11″ pipe bomb hidden in one of the store aisles. 

In response, the Kane County Bomb Squad arrived at the scene to conduct a meticulous search, ensuring the safety of employees and customers. 

No explosives were found during the search, leading authorities to declare the area secure and allowing operations to resume as normal. 

Police report stores in Cary, Lockport, and Sycamore had similar incidents.
