Typically, it’s the players who have to worry about staying healthy and avoiding injury during the intense stretch of the NBA postseason. But during Game 4 of the NBA Playoffs series between the Minnesota Timberwolves and the Phoenix Suns, it was Timberwolves head coach Chris Finch who suffered a major injury.

Chris Finch was involved in a sideline collision with Timberwolves guard Mike Conley Jr. who was fouled by Suns guard Devin Booker and forced out of bounds where he ran right into his coach.

It was not a particularly violent collision, but it caused Finch to have to leave the game and go to the locker room.

According to a report from NBA insider Shams Charania of The Athletic, the team fears he has torn a tendon in his knee.

“Minnesota Timberwolves coach Chris Finch is feared to have a torn patellar tendon in his knee on late game collision during Game 4 win in Phoenix, sources say. Brutal,” Charania said in a post on X, the social media website that was formerly known as Twitter.

This is obviously some pretty bad news for Finch as he is trying to lead his team to victory in the playoff series.
