Mostly dry weekend ahead
PEORIA (25News Now) - Mild temperatures and abundant sunshine continue for the end of the work week. Highs will trend in the lower 80′s under mostly sunny skies. It will be another breezy day with gusts up to 30 miles per hour. Blowing dust cannot be ruled out again due to the windier conditions. Clouds will begin to build during the evening as a storm system approaches from the northwest. The majority of this system will pass to our south, but scattered showers will be possible locally tonight into the first half of our Saturday. A cold front will bring the chance for additional showers and a rumble of thunder or two during the evening before dry weather returns. If you are planning on attending the Tremont Turkey Festival Saturday afternoon/evening, you may want the umbrella on hand just in case. We can still expect dry conditions in between our rain chances. Dry and mild weather will return Sunday into next week before summer-like temperatures arrive as we near Father’s Day.
