Monday trial set for suspect accused of murdering missing Alliance teen
The trial is scheduled to begin Monday for an Alliance man accused of murdering a teenager who hasn’t been seen in fourteen years. Mahoning County Common Pleas Judge Maureen Sweeney is expected to begin jury selection Monday in the trial of 53-year-old Robert Moore who was already found “not guilty” of aggravated murder in connection with the disappearance of Glenna Jean White.

Aaron Farmer and Jillian Lohnes were crowned Alliance High School’s fall homecoming king and queen at Friday night’s home football game against Carrollton. Lohnes, 17, the daughter of Dr. Edward and Amy Lohnes, is a senior at Alliance High. She plays tennis and is a member of the National Honor Society, Key Club and Student Council. Her parents escorted her on the field Friday night at the football game.

Union settles lawsuit with Ohio school bus driver
The union that represents school bus drivers agreed to return the money it deducted from the paycheck of a northeast Ohio driver to settle a lawsuit. The Ohio Association of Public School Employees agreed David Krizon acknowledged quitting the union and would give the money back it collected after he quit in a settlement, according to The Buckeye Institute.
