Tahoe Blue Event Center Opens: New Local Entertainment Hub and Home to Lake Tahoe's First Pro Hockey Team
On September 18, the Tahoe Blue Event Center (TBEC) was officially opened. The ribbon-cutting ceremony was attended by officials from Tahoe Douglas Visitors Authority, Visit Lake Tahoe, and OVG360. The project, which took over ten years to complete, was initially a simple parking lot build, as stated by Lake Tahoe Visitor Authority attorney Lou Feldman. The project grew into a larger venture with complications from planning to realization. Despite hurdles, the venue is now ready to host over 125 ticketed events annually, starting with Comic Con on September 23.

Rock climbing is becoming more popular in the United States. The Tahoe Fund and the Boys & Girls Club of Lake Tahoe are making it more accessible to underserved communities in South Lake Tahoe. The high costs of gym memberships and climbing equipment are barriers to entry. The Tahoe Fund is addressing this by funding a new indoor climbing program.
