FHP: 2 people killed, 1 injured in Brevard County crash

Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a crash that killed two and injured another person on US-1 in Mims Saturday afternoon.According to FHP, the crash happened around 4:18 p.m. at the intersection of Jefferson Street and US-1, just south of State Road 46 in Mims.Troopers said a Chevy HHR attempting to turn left from Jefferson Street to head southbound on US-1 was hit by a Pontiac Grand Prix heading north on US-1.The front of the Pontiac collided with the left side of the Chevy.The 89-year-old Waveland, Mississippi man driving the Chevy was transported to Holmes Regional Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.His passenger, an 82-year-old Titusville woman, is in critical condition at Holmes Regional.The 78-year-old Mims woman driving the Pontiac was transported to Parrish Medical Center and later pronounced dead.
