Large police presence near Milwaukee and Wells; US Marshals & FBI present

There was a heavy police presence at a parking lot in downtown Milwaukee near Milwaukee and Wells.

At least 20 officers from the Milwaukee Police Department were on the scene. TMJ4's Megan Lee also observed the US Marshals Service & an FBI agent on the scene.

In a press release Wednesday morning, Milwaukee police say they spotted a vehicle wanted in connection to a homicide and tried to make a traffic stop. The driver didn't pull over and instead lead officers on a chase.

Officers say they stopped chasing when they lost sight of the vehicle, but picked it back up when they found the car again near the 700 block of N. Milwaukee Street. Officers arrested three people as they were heading into a parking structure. The vehicle they'd been in had been reported as stolen. Officers also found several guns in the process.

The suspects are listed as a 17-year-old, 18-year-old and 19-year-old, all male. Police are still looking for one more person.

MPD says criminal charges will be referred to the Milwaukee County District Attorney's Office.
