MILWAUKEE — With the Yankees offense yet to take off in full, Aaron Boone changed up the middle of his lineup Saturday, wanting to “stir it up a little bit.”

At least for one game, the result was essentially a chef’s kiss.

New cleanup hitter Alex Verdugo got things started with a three-run home run in the first inning, setting the tone for what was to come the rest of the night as the Yankees cruised past the Brewers, 15-3, at American Family Field.

The 15 runs marked a season-high for the Yankees, with all nine members of the starting batting order reaching base at least once. They pounded out a season-high 19 hits, including four home runs — three of them coming before the Brewers used a position player to pitch the final two innings — with the rearranged middle of the order right in the heart of all the scoring.

“That was pretty good, right?” Boone said with a chuckle. “Good to see just everyone contributing and having a big night offensively. Hopefully we can finish off a good series [Sunday].”

A struggling Gleyber Torres, bumped down to batting seventh Saturday, eclipsed his season RBI total in one eight-pitch at-bat in the third inning.

He went the other way for a three-run double off right-hander Joe Ross that made it 6-1, one of his three hits on the night.

“Amazing, amazing,” said Torres, who had two RBIs in 27 games coming into Saturday. “Finally I do something for the team, especially in that situation. A lot of work in the cage, [batting practice]. Finally I see the results for tonight and I feel happy. I think it’s going to be a great night for me resting and just try to do the same thing [Sunday].”

Aaron Judge and Anthony Rizzo, the latter batting sixth for the first time this season instead of fourth or fifth, added two-run home runs in the sixth inning to blow the game open.

Verdugo, who was batting fourth for the first time as a Yankee after usually batting sixth or seventh through the early going, continued to swing a hot bat, matching Rizzo and Torres with a three-hit effort — his third of the season.

And Giancarlo Stanton capped off the offensive explosion with a three-run home run in the ninth off infielder Owen Miller to make it 15-1.

“It helps relax the whole team,” Verdugo, who is batting .350 over his last 18 games, said of a night like this. “Three runs at the beginning were a big deep breath. GT coming up there and getting that bases-loaded double that clears it off, it felt like that was the deciding factor. That was the big blow. To see GT, who’s struggled a little bit, keep grinding and stick with his approach, starting to see it really pay off.”

All of it was more than enough run support for Carlos Rodon, who struck out a season-high eight — seven via the slider — across six dominant innings. He gave up just two hits, one of them a solo home run by Rhys Hoskins in the first inning.

“Offensively, we definitely had it going,” Rodon said. “They gave me an early lead and made it easier for me to go attack the zone. It’s always easy when the offense is firing like that. An early lead, I can go right at the zone and get guys out. Hats off to them for getting guys across the plate.”

The Yankees’ first real laugher of the season, which came a day after a crushing 7-6 loss in 11 innings, allowed them to get Judge, Rizzo and Juan Soto off their feet for the final two-and-a-half innings during a stretch of 17 games in 17 days.

By the end of the night, the vibes were so good that the Yankees’ only complaint was that catcher Jose Trevino only threw two knuckleballs while closing out the game in the bottom of the ninth.

“As hard as it is in this league to score runs, and as good as the pitching is, to have a night like that definitely is nice,” Boone said. “Hopefully little things that unlock and get a few guys going even more. But a really strong performance overall. We talked about the last few days putting a lot of guys out there. Tonight, we were able to get a lot of them home, which is always nice.”
