Pitt G Jamarius Burton Will Work Out for Milwaukee Bucks

Former Pitt Panthers guard Jamarius Burton earned a tryout with an NBA squad.

PITTSBURGH -- He led the Pitt Panthers back to the summit. As the undisputed top dog on an extremely experienced roster, Jamarius Burton powered the program back to its first NCAA Tournament in seven years and helped them win games there for the first time in nine years.

Now, the former Pitt guard is looking to continue his basketball career at the professional level. This week, Burton will try out for the Milwaukee Bucks, per a report from Jim Owczarski of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.

The Bucks currently do not hold a first round pick in the 2023 NBA Draft. They'll pick for the first time in the second round at pick No. 58.

Burton, a transfer from Texas Tech and Wichita State who spent two seasons at Pitt, averaged 12.4 points, 3.5 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game on 40% shooting from the field over 34 minutes per game during the 2021-22 season before making a massive leap in his final season of college basketball.

In 2022-23, Burton averaged 15.2 points, 4.2 assists and 4.8 rebounds per night while shooting 48.8% from the floor on the way to First-Team All-ACC honors.
