The league-leading Milwaukee Bucks will miss four players from their lineup when they battle the San Antonio Spurs on Wednesday night at the Fiserv Forum. This includes a couple of rotation players in rugged forward Jae Crowder and backup big man Meyers Leonard.

Making sure everyone stays healthy

With just 11 games remaining on their regular season slate, the Bucks want to ensure everyone is in the pink of health. This, along with the fact that the Spurs are one of the worst teams in the NBA, may have been the rationale for Milwaukee’s decision to hold out Crowder and Leonard. According to the injury report, Crowder and Leonard—who the Bucks recently signed for the rest of the season after two consecutive 10-day contracts—have calf issues.

Goran Dragic also remains out due to a knee injury. The Slovenian has yet to suit up for Milwaukee ever since the team signed him from the buyout market. Giannis’ brother Thanasis is also out due to personal reasons.

Itching for payback

Despite the numerous injuries to other players, the Bucks will head to the game with their core guys, namely Giannis, Khris Middleton, Brook Lopez, and Jrue Holiday. They will look to lead the charge against San Antonio after getting embarrassed in their last meeting with a 111-93 loss in Texas. Giannis, Jrue, and Khris did not suit up in that ballgame as they were all nursing various injuries.
