After auditioning with Alanis Morisette's "Uninvited" on Monday's episode of NBC singing competition "The Voice," Milwaukee-area singer Rachel Christine was invited to join Kelly Clarkson's team.

Clarkson and fellow coach Chance The Rapper both turned their chairs during Christine's equally brooding and soaring blind audition. Chance turned his chair almost immediately and suggested that Christine had the potential to win the show, with fellow coach Blake Shelton endorsing Chance to playfully spite Clarkson.

But in the end, Clarkson still convinced Christine to join her team, offering praise for a difficult-to-sing song and some constructive criticism, encouraging her to make her vocals wilder. As a member of Clarkson's team, Christine will advance to the battle rounds.

Burlington-born, Delavan-based singer Rachel Christine aced her blind audition on "The Voice" episode that aired on Monday, March 20, 2023. She chose to join coach Kelly Clarkson's team.

Born in Burlington and based in Delavan, Christine sings in area band the Gebel Girls with her sister Micah Lynn Gebel.

She's not the only Wisconsin singer trying to win a singing-competition show this spring. Reette Thorns of Madison got a golden ticket to advance to the Hollywood auditions on the current season of "American Idol" on ABC.
