Silicon Valley official might sue San Diego County over top job
Santa Clara County Supervisor Cindy Chavez may pursue legal action against San Diego County after being snubbed twice for one of the region’s top jobs. Chavez’s lawyer, B.J. Chisholm of San Francisco-based law firm Altshuler Berzon LLP, submitted a letter to San Diego County Board of Supervisors Chairwoman Nora Vargas on Tuesday — indicating Chavez is considering “potential litigation” for how the county handled her applications for chief administrative officer. The position implements board policies and oversees roughly 18,000 employees. Interim Chief Administrative Officer Helen Robbins-Meyer received a salary of more than $375,000 in 2022, according to Transparent California.

1 dead, 1 injured in collision on I-280 near Redwood City Tuesday night
One died and one was injured following a crash Tuesday night on southbound Interstate Highway 280 near Redwood City, according to the California Highway Patrol. The CHP said that around 10 p.m., a Hyundai Accent and a pickup truck collided on southbound I-280 near the Edgewood Road offramp. Both drivers were ejected from their vehicles and were found lying on the roadway.
USPS mail carrier attacked, robbed in Palo Alto
It has happened yet again in the Bay Area, another USPS mail carrier has been robbed of their postal keys. The incident happened just before noon in Palo Alto Thursday. Police said that a mail carrier in his 60s was delivering mail, when two men demanded his postal keys in the parking lot of the Southwood apartment complex.
