MILLSBORO – Two unopposed candidates for two district council seats equates to the cancellation of a municipal election this year in the Town of Millsboro.

The Wednesday, May 15 filing deadline produced two candidates – Robert McKee in District 3, and Mary D’Silva in District 1. As a result, the Town of Millsboro Board of Elections determined that it is not necessary to hold an election.

If needed the election would have been held Saturday, June 8.

Incumbents Jim Kells (District 3) and Bob Bryan (District 1) did not seek re-election. Mr. Kells currently serves as mayor as selected by his council peers.

At the town council meeting on Monday, July 1, the newly elected council members will assume the duties of office, upon being first duly sworn.
