Mifflinburg, Pa. — A Union County man was caught with at least 50 child pornography photos and videos on his cell phone, according to police.

Kayshawn Farnsworth, 21, of Mifflinburg, remains in Union County Prison in lieu of $250,000 bail on felony charges for possessing child pornography. Mifflinburg Police began investigating on March 8 when they were called to a home on East Chestnut Street for a report that a man was attempting to provide child porn materials, according to the affidavit.

Officer David Shaffer went to the home and met with the caller, who told him that Farnsworth had offered to give him child porn images. The caller had the images of the child porn on his phone.

Police detained Farnsworth and seized his phone. During an interview with police, Farnsworth admitted he had been viewing child pornography since 2022, according to the affidavit. Farnsworth had been entering chat rooms to exchange videos and photos of children. He claimed he mostly viewed the photos and videos and then deleted them. Farnsworth admitted to police he had 25 videos saved on his phone. The videos contained children under the age of 15 engaging in sexual activity.

Farnsworth admitted to police he also shared approximately 25 explicit videos of children via chat rooms, according to the affidavit. He consented to a search of his phones and police opened the Telegram app, which Farnsworth had recently deleted. The app contained four active chat rooms that contained hundreds of videos of underage girls engaged in sexual acts.

Farnsworth also turned over to police explicit videos of children he had saved. Most of the underage girls in the videos were around age 14 and one was 9, according to the affidavit.

Farnsworth told police he only personally made contact with one female who was 18, but later admitted that the female actually closer to 14 or 15 years gold. Farnsworth admitted to police he had tried to meet up with her to potentially engage in sexual acts, Shaffer wrote in the affidavit. Farnsworth was not able to identify the girl, but claimed she did not live in Pennsylvania.

Police also went through Farnsworth's SnapChat account and found he had bought gift cards in exchange for photos of a young girl. Farnsworth admitted to police the girl was 16.

Farnsworth was also charged with 25 felony counts each of disseminating photo/film of child sex acts, child pornography, contact/communication with a minor sexual abuse, criminal use of a communication facility, and misdemeanor possession of an instrument of crime. During his preliminary hearing at District Judge Jeffrey Mensch's office, his case was held for court. Formal arraignment in front of Union County Judge Michael Piecuch is set for May 6.
