Midland College helps future HS graduates through new C3 program

    By Will Duerksen,

MIDLAND, Texas (KMID/KPEJ) – With the 2023-24 school year finished, Midland ISD is looking forward to next school year – and a new program with Midland College.

The College and Career Connections (C3) program will see education coaches help students in determining their plans after high school. Lori Haltom, the Executive Director of the program for Midland College, explained the program.

“A kid can walk in the room with three of his buddies, and two of his buddies are going to great universities, already going to Midland College, or to Odessa College and one friend walks in and says, “What are you doing?” – he says, “I don’t know”,” she said. “And if Midland College isn’t what’s for you, we can help you find what is for you, but there is an opportunity for every single kid out there.”

Haltom also said that the program will serve the roughly 13,000 Midland ISD students between sixth and 12th grades.
