LCSC's Madigan Kelly Named Track Athlete of the Meet; Men Bring Home Sportsmanship Award
KLAMATH FALLS - Madigan Kelly dominated and the LC State Men’s Track and Field team was recognized for its sportsmanship to close out the 2024 Cascade Conference Track and Field Championships, presented by U.S. Bank, on Saturday. Kelly was voted the CCC Women’s Track Athlete of the Meet and the men’s team earned the CCC Team Sportsmanship award to go with five All-Cascade Conference honors on the day.

Woman sues to reclaim her dogs after shelter finds new owners for them
KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. – A Klamath Falls woman is accusing an Oakridge animal rescue of adopting out her dogs when it was supposed to care for them during a medical procedure. Luanne Dunning filed the lawsuit in the Lane County Circuit Court on May 3 against Mountain Respite and Mission Rescue Safety Animal Center, Trudy Hammond, and up to 10 more unnamed individuals. In the lawsuit, Dunning said she has had her dogs, Floyd and Trixie, since 2012 and 2016. Both are rescue chihuahua mixes.
Migratory Bird Day is Saturday at Veterans Memorial Park
A longtime favorite event, Migratory Bird Day, is set to fly from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at Veterans Memorial Park in Klamath Falls. The 24th annual event is sponsored annually by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and the City of Klamath Falls. The free family event includes a variety of fun outdoor activities provided by nearly two dozen community groups and agencies.
Dirty Pelican race a tough fundraiser
The Dirty Pelican is a chance to test skills, push limits and benefit the Pregnancy Hope Center. An epic adventure race at the foot of Moore Mountain in Klamath Falls, the Dirty Pelican consists of a 7.5-mile bike course, 1.5-mile kayaking challenge and 3.5-mile run that can be challenged solo or in a three-person team.
