ROSCOMMON COUNTY, Mich., (WPBN/WGTU) -- A Midland man died in a motorcycle crash in Roscommon Township, according to the Roscommon County Sheriff's Office.
The sheriff's office said in a statement that the crash occurred Saturday afternoon at M-55 and Loxley Road.
According to investigators, a GMC Sierra pickup truck attempted to cross M-55 traveling south on Loxley Road and failed to yield to an oncoming motorcycle that was traveling west on M-55.
The passenger of the motorcycle, Frederick Hammond, 49, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the motorcycle, Michael Gray, 48, of Midland, was transported to West Branch Regional Hospital and then airlifted to Munson Medical Center in Traverse City.
The Roscommon County Sheriff's Office did not elaborate on the severity of Gray's injuries.
The driver of the pickup truck, Billy Chandanais, 38, of Houghton Lake, sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
Chandanais was the only occupant of the truck at the time of the crash.
