An early-morning accident has snarled traffic, caused the suspension of a SEPTA regional line and impacted the morning school routine of the Neshaminy School District.

What to know about the accident and how it may impact your commute.

Accident at Big Oak Road and Township Line Road

According to the Middletown Police Department, at about 5:30 a.m., a CSX train struck a cement truck at the Big Oak train crossing at Township Line Road.

Middletown police said as of right now, there doesn't appear to be any injuries, but advise drivers to avoid the area.

Officials also said there is not hazmat-related incident, although there was a small amount of diesel fuel, and a larger amount of gypsum along the tracks where the crash occurred.

It was stressed that this posed no hazard to the public.

CSX, SEPTA, and Middletown public works crews are on scene now evaluating and beginning the clean up to get the crossing back open. This is likely to last well into this afternoon or early evening.
