Wilmington’s city government has agreed to pay $459,000 to settle a lawsuit filed by a group of current and former high-ranking Wilmington firefighters. The settlement, approved by a judge last week includes back overtime pay and damages for 11 firefighters who held the rank of battalion chief in recent years. The group of firefighters sued the city last year claiming that department pay practice had violated labor law in classifying that rank as exempt from overtime pay.
Somber reminder for work zone safety week

Three people were killed overnight Wednesday, April 17, 2024, on I-83 in York County, Pennsylvania, when a box truck plowed into a construction vehicle, and then the construction workers.
