Wilmington University Cross Country Teams Shine at Don Cathcart Invite; Men's Team Secures Second Place
The Wilmington University cross country teams participated in the 35th Annual Don Cathcart Invitational at Winter Place Park, Maryland. Salisbury University hosted the event. The men's team matched their best performance of the year, finishing second among 12 teams with 64 points. The women's team also replicated their best performance, finishing fifth with 140 points.

Local Wildcats Triumph in Homecoming Game with Four Players Scoring Their Season's First Goals
The Wilmington University women's soccer team, the Wildcats, won 5-1 against Bloomfield at the WU Athletics Complex. This victory brings their season record to 3-2-2. Four Wildcats players scored their first goals of the season, including Sharon Freire Omonigho's first collegiate career goal.
Wilmington University Wildcats Triumph in Homecoming Soccer Match Against Bloomfield
The Wilmington University men's soccer team won 6-0 against Bloomfield in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference on Saturday at the WU Athletics Complex. This win marked the highlight of the 2023 Homecoming events. The Wildcats, who had only scored two goals in their previous four games, managed to score six goals in this match. Four different players scored the goals, with Jeremie Briquet and Leandro Louro da Silva both scoring twice.

Local Star Elly Collins Hits 2,000th Career Dig in Homecoming Volleyball Victory
The Wilmington University volleyball team started the 2023 Homecoming Gameday celebrations with a 3-1 win over Post. The match took place at the WU Athletics Complex. Senior libero Elly Collins made a significant achievement in the program's history. She became the first student-athlete to record 2,000 career digs during the NCAA era. Collins needed only four digs to reach this milestone. She ended the game with 25 digs, bringing her total to 2,021. Half a season is still remaining.

DOVER – It just kept getting better for Nahseem Cosme on Friday night. Dover’s senior quarterback was named Homecoming King at halftime. Then he broke the game open with a 40-yard touchdown run early in the fourth quarter as the Senators scored a historic, 27-16 victory over Salesianum.

NEWARK, Del. --- College of Charleston volleyball fell in their bid to sweep the weekend series from Delaware on Sunday by a 3-2 (23-25, 20-25, 25-16, 25-21, 15-10) score. Sopheea Mink put down a career-best 16 kills in the loss and finished the weekend with a team-high 29 while hitting .431 across nine sets. She was joined in double figures by Lexi Wierzbicki (11), Sofie Vogel (10) and Anna Smith (10) while Morgan Cobb added a season-high nine.

The Wilmington University volleyball team won a nonconference contest against West Chester at the WU Athletics Complex on Wednesday night. This victory broke their two-match losing streak. The Wildcats won with set scores of 25-20, 25-22, and 25-21. Senior libero Elly Collins achieved her 1,988th career dig during this match, breaking the program's record previously held by Shelby Henderson from 2012-15. Collins finished the night with 1,996 career digs.
