Panthers defeat Colby for third time this season in NCAA quarterfinal

It has been nothing short of historic.No. 1 Middlebury women's lacrosse locked its spot in the NCAA semi-final for the fourth straight season, defeating No. 12 Colby College 12-7 at Peter Kohn Field on Sunday. While it wasn't the usual dominant 10+ goal win for the Panthers, the team anticipated a hard-fought game from the only program it faced three times this season. "Watching game against yesterday, it was the best game we've seen them play all season," said junior midfielder Susan Rowley. "So we knew it was going to be a really big game. With so much on the line teams always bring out their best."It was hard," said head coach Kate Livesay. "It was hard work. I just totally commend Colby for being ready to push and make this a game. For us, we got a chance to learn a lot about ourselves when it wasn't easy."With the win, Middlebury has won 26 straight games dating back to May of 2022. The Panthers will face Franklin & Marshall on May 26th, with a trip to the NCAA Championship on the line.
