First-Time Horse Owner Wins Shenandoah Downs’ Horse of the Meet Award After Perfect Five-Race Run

A local cattleman who had never owned a harness racing horse before this year is ending his first season with one of the sport’s top honors at Shenandoah Downs. Chris Pangle, a Shenandoah Valley businessman who entered harness racing just months ago, earned the track’s 2026 Horse of the Meet Award with his three-year-old pacer, One Fell Swoop, after the horse won all five starts at Woodstock this fall.
