Miami linebacker Marcellius Pulliam entered the NCAA transfer portal. He spent just one season with the Hurricanes.

Pulliam saw action during 10 games last season, mostly on special teams. He logged one tackle and one interception in 2023.

Pulliam even saw time in Miami’s Pinstripe Bowl game against Rutgers.

As a member of the Class of 2023, Pulliam was a three-star recruit out of Tyrone (Ga.) Sandy Creek, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He was the No. 67 overall prospect in the state, the No. 72 linebacker in the class and the No. 701 overall prospect in the class.

Marcellius Pulliam enters portal near end of spring

Before the portal opened this spring, Cristobal identified his plan on how to use the portal this window.

“It starts like right now,” Cristobal said. “This is a whole different phase now. The first part is making sure our people thank all the people that made this [Spring Game] happen. That’s number one.

“Then right to what we’ve been doing. We’ve been assessing. What’re the areas that clearly need help? What are the ones that we’ve clearly improved at? What can we do well, what maybe we should get away from and not do?”

In the Winter Transfer Portal window, Miami had 20 players transfer out and 10 players transfer into the program. That left the Hurricanes with the 24th-ranked transfer portal class of the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 College Football Team Transfer Portal Rankings. Among the biggest names that Miami added was quarterback Cam Ward.
