6ix9ine is currently recovering in a Florida hospital after he was attacked by a group of men while he was at a gym.
On Tuesday night, March 21, the troubled rapper was reportedly attacked by several men after he worked out at a LA Fitness in South Florida. His attorney Lance Lazzaro told TMZ that Tekashi 6ix9ine was sitting inside a sauna at the gym without any security when a crew of attackers jumped him without warning. In several videos of the beatdown that surfaced, you can see the artist on the floor getting kicked by the men. The outlet also released an image of his bloody injuries.
According to Lazzaro, 6ix9ine tried to fight them off himself but he was outnumbered. The rapper managed to walk out of the gym, however, the staff heard the fight going on and called for help. Once EMS and the police arrived, the New York native was immediately rushed to the hospital in an ambulance to treat his wounds. Lazzaro said his client suffered injuries to his jaw, ribs and his back.
This is just the latest public incident he's been involved in since he moved to Miami after he was released from prison three years ago. Last year, he engaged in a domestic dispute with his girlfriend at a popular venue, and got sucker-punched inside a Wynwood nightclub. Just last weekend, 6ix9ine was tossed out of the World Baseball Classic game between Mexico and Puerto Rico for being too drunk and disturbing the peace.
As of this report, there's no confirmation on whether the violent altercation is connected to his early release from prison after he cooperated with federal authorities to testify against the gang members he used to run around with. Since then, 6ix9ine's well-being has become a No.1 priority for his team. His lawyer aims to implement more security measures in order to better protect the "GINE" rapper.
