Temperatures Attempt to Recover From a Night of Near Freezing Conditions
GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) - Overnight last night, Grand Junction reached 30°, whereas some of the surrounding areas were in the 20s. Today, moving forward, the forecasted lows increase. Tonight, the Grand Junction area will reach 40 °. Other locations, such as Montrose and Delta, are expected to reach 34°. Cortez will be 27°.
Slow warming and showers mark the end of this week
GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) - Grand Junction cooled to 29 degrees Wednesday morning, breaking the record low temperature for the date. Grand Junction was below freezing for just two hours and below 30 degrees for only ten minutes. Montrose cooled to 32 degrees and spent about ten minutes at freezing. Cortez only cooled to 34 degrees. The wind relaxed, but it stayed just high enough to mix some warmer air to the ground from aloft around Montrose and Cortez.

The program is a collaboration between the Mesa County Animal Shelter, which provides the dogs and training location; RSVP, which provides elderly volunteers; Angels in the Making, which provides the trainers and District 51, which provides students.

City of GJ to host public meeting for Whitman Park
GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) - The City of Grand Junction is planning on hosting a public meeting for Whitman Park on May 14th. The meeting will be held by the City of Grand Junction Parks and Recreation staff and the DTJ consultants in which they will review the three design concepts prepared by DTJ consultants with community members. The City of Grand Junction said that “Public feedback from a community-wide survey provided insight for City staff and DTJ consultants regarding the needs and opportunities for a redesign of Whitman Park.”
