Crash involving dump truck in Mesa sends 2 adults, toddler to the hospital

MESA, AZ (3TV/CBS 5) -- A serious crash in Mesa sent two people and a toddler to the hospital on Friday evening. Investigators say a car collided with a dump truck near Val Vista Drive and McKellips Road. Firefighters said a woman and a 2-year-old had to be rescued and are in serious condition. The truck driver was taken to the hospital as a precaution.
Authorities are still working to find out what led up to the collision. The investigation is ongoing.
