MERCED, Calif. (FOX26) — Multiple drivers were cited on Saturday after they were caught speeding down Campus Parkway in Merced.

According to the Merced Police Department, officers pulled over a driver in an Acura going 81 MPH in a 55 MPH speed zone. Another officer stopped someone in a Nissan going 95 and another driver heading down Campus Parkway at 118 MPH.
All drivers, police say, were cited for their excessive speed.

“Driving at these speeds is never acceptable on public roadways and is even more dangerous in a city setting,” said the Merced Police Department. “A collision at these speeds leaves people without family members, loved ones, and friends. Again, slow down Merced, slow down.”
