MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) - A highly charged atmosphere is in place across the Mid-South along with a series of upper level disturbances that will move through bringing the potential for isolated to widely scattered strong to severe storms to develop tonight and tomorrow. That will be followed by a cold front Wednesday that will significantly elevate the risk for severe storms. The Storm Prediction Center has already placed and ENHANCED RISK of severe weather over much of the Action News 5 coverage area for Wednesday. The potential for torrential rain, damaging wind, large hail, and tornadoes will come into play Wednesday evening.
