The Melcher-Dallas Softball Squad went 0-2 on Saturday at the 40th Murray Invitational losing to Lamoni 7-6, and falling hard to East Union 15-2. In the Lamoni game, The Saints got down 6-3 and playing as the home team, clawed back to get it down to a one run game, but got no closer. The Saints were hampered by five errors in the loss. Peyton Anderson and Summer Karpan had two hits each with Anderson getting three RBI. Emma Clark took the loss pitching four innings. The Saints gave up nine runs in the 4th inning and could not recover. More fielding errors gave the Saints problems. Summer Karpan took the loss pitching 3 2/3 innings. Melcher-Dallas returns to action Monday hosting a double header with Orient-Macksburg.
