A major crash shut down all the northbound lanes on Interstate 95 in Melbourne, just before Wickham Road.The wreck happened just after 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday morning. A medical helicopter landed on I-95 just after 9 a.m. Officials say the crash involved two vehicles and one tractor-trailer. According to Florida Highway Patrol, the semitrailer failed to maintain control and struck the rear of a 2013 Hyundai Accent. The Accent then spun and struck a 2018 Hyundai Elantra.The driver of one of the passenger vehicles died after they arrived at the hospital.He was identified as a 70-year-old man from Palm Bay.All lanes were reopened by the afternoon.
