Man found guilty of manslaughter in deadly West Melbourne bar shooting over spilled beer
BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. – A jury on Thursday found a man guilty of manslaughter in a deadly 2021 shooting over spilled beer. Gregory Barr II was arrested after the fatal shooting of 19-year-old Andre Hutchinas, a football player and recent Melbourne High School graduate. He initially was charged with second-degree murder, but the jury found him guilty on a lesser charge of manslaughter.

Orlando, Florida – United States Attorney Roger B. Handberg recently announced that Tommy Mendez, a 42-year-old resident of Melbourne, has been sentenced to three years and one month in federal prison for theft of government funds. U.S. District Judge Carlos E. Mendoza presided over the case and also ordered an additional forfeiture of $173,125, representing the ill-gotten proceeds of the theft of government funds.
