MEDINA, Ohio -- The City of Medina held ribbon-cutting ceremonies for several businesses and organizations over the last few weeks, including Hope Recovery Community, Jersey Mike’s Subs, Youth Resiliency and Counseling Center, Super Bins and Uptown Shoppe.

Here’s the rundown on these new enterprises:

Hope Recovery Community

Hope Recovery Community is a non-profit organization that works to increase sustainable recovery for those dealing with addictions by providing them with the hope, support, advocacy and resources they need to recover.

The organization has locations in Brunswick and Wadsworth and has now expanded to Medina, at 200 Highland Drive.

“Recovery and treatment is alive and well in Medina County, thanks to many of you in this room,” Mayor Dennis Hanwell said at the ribbon cutting.

Jersey Mike’s Subs

Located at 1176 N. Court St., Jersey Mike’s opened its doors in April and just celebrated its ribbon cutting with the city in May.

“The City of Medina is honored to officially welcome Jersey Mike’s Subs to Medina and is grateful they chose to open their business here,” Hanwell said in his proclamation to the new business.

The sandwich shop is located in the space formerly occupied by Little Caesar’s Pizza and will be open seven days a week.

Youth Resiliency and Counseling Center

Medina Mayor Dennis Hanwell and other city and county officials gathered to celebrate the Youth Resiliency and Counseling Center's ribbon cutting.

The Youth Resiliency and Counseling Center, 177 Northland Drive, is owned by the Medina County Alcohol, Drug Addiction and Mental Health (ADAMH) Board and is operated by OhioGuidstone.

The center celebrated its ribbon cutting early in May with city officials.

The center works to address behavioral health concerns that youth and their families are facing today. They provide trauma-informed care and mental health services to youth and their families facing substance abuse, mental health issues and other trauma.
