Candace Owens announced on X Monday that she was suspended from YouTube for a week following her recent interview with anti-Semitic rapper Kanye West, which YouTube said platformed anti-Semitic claims that “Jewish people control the media.”
“There will be no show today, or at all this week. That’s because @YouTube has issued me a strike and a one week suspension for my sit down with Kanye. They also removed the interview as “hate speech”, as it was mass reported by Zionists. Their tactics never change,” wrote Owens, who in recent weeks has engaged in anti-Semitic blood libel and Holocaust revisionism.
Owens shared a screenshot from the message she received from YouTube. “Additionally, the video Kanye West (Ye) x Candace Owens | Candace Ep 42 has been removed from the Candace Owens YouTube channel because it violates our hate speech policies. YouTube does not allow content containing conspiratorial claims that individuals or groups are evil, corrupt or malicious based on their protected group status. Specifically, the video in question contains claims that Jewish people control the media,” read the message Owens shared.
“All who watched that podcast know that Ye was calm, and filled with love—speaking about the world coming together to defeat evil,” followed up Owens in an additional post, adding:
2.5 million people watched my debate with Rabbi Shmuley last week. The world knows why I am being targeted and frankly, I have never felt more confident that I am the right person for this to happen.
Owens posted shortly after that YouTube had also “demonetized” her account, which has 2.4 million followers. “Thus far, I have had zero strikes on my @YouTubeCreators account. I have now been inundated with 3 back to back content hits within minutes, plus an email that I am now fully demonetized.”
“We all know exactly who is behind this and why,” she added, appearing to blame “Zionists” or “Jews” again.
Owens, who was fired from the Daily Wire after publicly feuding with Ben Shapiro and a string of statements widely seen as anti-Semitic, has continued to court controversy in recent months. Owens vowed she would stake her entire “professional reputation” on the claim that France’s first lady, who has given birth to her biological children, was actually born a man.
Owens made headlines a few weeks ago when she defended avowed neo- Nazi Nick Fuentes and praised Fuentes for calling out the number of Jews serving in the Biden administration and lambasted Jordan Peterson for criticizing Fuentes for doing so as part of an anti-Semitic attack on Biden’s Israel policy. She also defended Hitler in the past and recently declared the Allies as having done more damage during World War II than the Nazis, while also saying accounts of Nazi doctor Josef Mengele’s horrific experiments sounded to her like “bizarre propaganda.”
Owens remains a popular and influential figure on the hard right as her podcast and YouTube channel draw in an audience in the millions.
