The two members of former President Donald Trump’s campaign involved in an incident at Arlington National Cemetery have been identified by NPR.

Last week, Trump met with some family members of the 13 U.S. soldiers who were killed in suicide bombings at Kabul’s main airport during the U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan in 2021. At one point, a cemetery worker reportedly attempted to prevent the campaign from filming in an area of the cemetery in which filming is prohibited. Early reports said there had been an altercation with a female cemetery staffer. Later, Trump’s campaign released an ad showing Trump at Arlington.

In a statement, the U.S. Army, which maintains the cemetery, stated that a worker “was abruptly pushed aside”

Citing “a source with knowledge of the incident,” NPR said the two Trump aides involved are Deputy Campaign Manager Justin Caporale and Michel Picard , a member of the former president’s advance team. NPR stated that after emailing the two men for comment, it received an email from campaign spokesman Steven Cheung .

“I see you’ve been emailing some of our team members,” he wrote. “As the Army has said, they consider this matter closed. President Trump was there to support the Gold Star families and honor the sacrifices their loved ones made.”

On Wednesday, Puck News published an internal Trump campaign email from co-managers Chris LaCivita and Susie Wiles to warn them not to speak with the press. The email prompted many to speculate about a potential story in the works about the Trump campaign.
