CNN Panelists Clash On Whether Biden Campaigning Actually Helps Harris: ‘They Took Him Out Back Like Old Yeller!’

CNN panelists clashed on whether President Joe Biden offers any real value to Vice President Kamala Harris on the campaign trail following the pair joining each other on stage at a Pittsburgh rally.

On CNN This Morning, former Donald Trump communications director Erin Perrine mocked senior DNC advisor Brad Woodhouse calling Biden a “powerful” force in “blue wall” states for Harris.

“One thing people underestimate with the change at the top of the ticket is how powerful Joe Biden is in these blue wall states. If you win the blue wall states, you win the presidency,” Woodhouse said.

Perrine pushed back, arguing Biden joining Harris on the campaign trail is a reminder she could be doing more to push her economic policies as she currently sits in the White House. Harris has announced she will back a federal ban on “price gouging” in the food industry and offering thousands in funds to new homeowners.

“If you can deliver today, why wait until tomorrow? That’s ineffective leadership, at best,” Perrine said.

Perrine argued Biden offers little help as if he had the strength he once did in blue wall states then he would be at the top of the ticket still.

“If Joe Biden was strong in these blue wall states, the Democrats wouldn’t have booted him off the top of the ticket. They would have kept him up there to keep running,” she said.

“I’ll tell you how strong he was in the blue wall states, he beat Donald Trump in all of them last election,” Woodhouse replied.

“And he wasn’t about to this cycle which is why Democrats gave him the old heave-ho,” Perrine shot back as Woodhouse continued.

“He beat [Trump] in all of them last time. One of the key elements to winning elections is turning out your base. The base of the Democratic Party loves Joe Biden,” he said.

Perrine cringed at Democrats “loving” Biden.

“At the Democratic Convention, they gave him a four and half minute ovation,” Woodhouse said in response.

“After they took him out back like Old Yeller!” Perrine said.

Woodhouse dismissed this and defended the Obama administration’s economic work.

“Okay, alright, but also this administration has worked on junk fees, they worked on airline fees, they lowered the price of prescription drugs so to say that no one is doing anything in this administration to lower costs is just not true,” he said.
