Former Federal Prosecutor: If Trump Loses Election He Spends ‘Rest of His Miserable Life’ in Court or Prison

Former federal prosecutor and NBC legal analyst Glenn Kirschner said that if Donald Trump loses the 2024 election, he will “spend the rest of his miserable life in court” or in prison.

During a conversation on SiriusXM’s The Dean Obeidallah Show, host Dean Obeidallah asked about how and why all of Trump’s cases have grinded to a halt. Kirschner explained that a “leisurely pace” had been set by the Georgia court prosecuting Trump for conspiracy charges related to the 2020 election. He described the “elongated timetables” of the cases as “inexplicable,” but didn’t want to accuse anyone of doing it for political reasons.

Then he outlined just how high the stakes were for Trump if he didn’t win back the presidency in November:

So, listen, as long as Donald Trump loses the election, then Donald Trump will spend the rest of his miserable life in court being prosecuted and ultimately serving prison terms, one after the other. So, our job is to just get to the polls in numbers too big to rig and too real to steel, and then everything else will sort itself out.

Trump has had one of his federal cases dismissed, the charges of withholding classified documents cases, but U.S. prosecutors appealed the decision by Judge Aileen Cannon. Trump still faces a number of charges related to the 2020 election. He was convicted on 34 felony counts of falsifying business records in his hush money case; sentencing for that case is scheduled for September 18.
