Fox’s Shannon Bream Pushes Back After Co-Hosts Blast Harris on Media Availability: ‘I Wouldn’t Change Anything If I Was Her’

Fox News anchor Shannon Bream defended Vice President Kamala Harris’s lack of media availability on The Five Friday, noting the strategy is “working” for her upstart campaign.

Bream’s co-hosts Jesse Watters and Judge Jeanine Pirro each laid into the Democratic Party nominee with Pirro noting weeks into her campaign, Harris had only spent just over 70 seconds addressing reporters. She also noted that Harris’s campaign website is not currently addressing the issues.

Harold Ford Jr. said that he agreed with Pirro that Harris had not yet offered any substance to the 2024 campaign but he added of former President Donald Trump , “Your candidate is doing even worse.”

Pirro replied, “The truth is, Shannon, that the president talks about issues unlike what Harold is representing. He talks about the border, he talks about the economy, he talks about crime, he talks about what’s going on in the Middle East.”

She added she saw Trump reaching voters while Harris was not. Bream responded:

I think their number one goal so far, the message has been is, “We’re not Trump.” We are not getting into policy yet and it’s not on the website and they haven’t done the interviews and they’re really not talking about the minutia of policy on the campaign trail. It is as [Watters] said, it’s joyful, they’re happy warriors, and you know, look at this team go. So how long does the honeymoon last?

She said by the end of the month. So, a month after becoming the nominee maybe we’ll have a sitdown interview from her. In the meantime, if I’m advising her, I say just keep doing this, it’s working. You have an adoring media, you have people who are not pressing you on what appear to be changes in positions and those kinds of things. It may be the debate is the first time that they get to that. But in the meantime, I wouldn’t change anything if I was her. It’s working. Her unfavorables are down, her favorables are up 12 points since she was named to the ticket. So why change it if it’s working?
