Medford Rogues left fielder Nate Gray steals second base against the Seattle Studs at Harry & David Field Thursday night.

Maybe it’s in the back of every ballplayer’s mind when they embark on a new season, but Medford Rogues manager Parker Berberet never had any aspirations or thoughts that his team would go undefeated through the summer collegiate wood-bat season.

What Berberet was looking for during Thursday’s season opener were signs of a team coming together and a team that isn’t willing to back down from a challenge, and that’s what he got in Medford’s 6-3 opening loss to the Seattle Studs at Harry & David Field.

I was at the game last night. Rogues win 5-4 with a walk off in the 10th inning friday night. Nice crowd, great weather and fireworks. I'm looking forward to this season.
