Meadville restaurant to be featured on America’s Best Restaurants

( WJET/W F XP )– A Crawford County BBQ restaurant is set to appear on an episode of an online series highlighting local, independently-owned restaurants around the country.

Smoky Martin’s BBQ in Meadville will be hosting America’s Best Restaurants , showcasing some most popular dishes and extensive interviews with owner Rob Martin about Smoky Martin’s impact on the community.

After working 26 years for a transportation and supply company while barbecuing on the side, Martin bought his first smoker in 2013 to sell food as a mobile BBQ restaurant around the area.

That escalated to being a takeout location before eventually opening as Smoky Martin’s restaurant in January of 2020 at 1206 Park Ave. in Meadville offering all kinds of different barbecue sandwiches, platters and meat by the pound to go with different entrees and sides like their smoked-cheddar-and-gouda mac and cheese.

Crews will be filming America’s Best Restaurants on April 29 with the episode’s premiere date set to be announced by Smoky Martin’s at a later date via their social media .
