Investigators say that a woman smoking sparked the fire that caused significant damage to a McMinnville pizza shop-movie theater.
According to court documents, surveillance video from a neighboring business shows Ray and a man enter a room adjacent to 3rd Street Pizza from the alleyway early in the morning of the 24th. Ray later exited the room and was seen smoking a cigarette at 4:46 a.m., leaving the alleyway 5 minutes later.
Smoke and flames were pouring out of the doorway to the room by 5:19 a.m. - less than half an hour after Ray was seen smoking.
The man in the security footage was located by police. He and told them that he met Ray at a bar and she asked him to buy her a glass smoking device to help her smoke methamphetamine, which he did at a convenience store.

The documents say the man then told police that he and Ray entered the room adjacent to 3rd Street Pizza, which seemed to be a storage area for the shop. Inside was a makeshift living quarters with a sleeping bag.
The man told police that Ray lit a pencil covered in a "thick substance" to make heat and light up the dark room, putting it in a metal container. At one point she reportedly tried to blow out the makeshift candle, but this action made the flames flare up significantly.
Police later interviewed Ray, who denied smoking meth but admitted smoking cigarettes and marijuana joints with the man. She said they were using a metal dog bowl as an ashtray, and this was the item that flared up with fire.
She allegedly claimed she moved the dog bowl around to extinguish the fire, and that she and the man left about 20 minutes after the dog bowl caught aflame.
Ray, listed as transient in court records, was released from jail following her arraignment on Friday. She has a string of arrests dating back to 2016 according to the same records.
Her next court hearing is scheduled for July 13.
